Default Ok so I guess some things never change....

I am really upset. I was being super optimistic about this pregnancy and was looking forward to my baby being able to choose his or her birthday. Well that already looks like I wont be able to have a 'real' labor. My blood pressure is high today. I was excited that I hit my 18 weeks today, but then realized that I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy and checked my blood pressure. It isnt terrible but it started just slightly higher and got worse and worse as time went on. I was at my 18 wk appt with Jaxon when I had my first HBP read. So things seem to be following the same pattern only my sickness is worse with this one so I hope that doesnt mean that my BP will be worse.

Normal BP for me is between My normal 110/70 and my higher normal 120/80 today it was 135/90

Hummm 135/90 isn't to good. I'm not sure if you know this Kristin but there are a TON of BP meds that a VERY safe to take during pregnancy. Since you caught this so ealry maybe your Dr. could give you something.

I was worried a few weeks ago b/c after my transfer my BP was very high 150/90! I'm a perfect 120/80 ALWAYS! So I started taking it at home. Well I was still getting high readings at home (140-150/90). I went in to see my regular Dr. last week and she told me about all the pregnancy safe meds for high BP. Long story short- My cuff was running high and my BP is fine. Guess I was just worried on the transfer day. It's been perfect ever since. So I would ask the Dr.'s office what you can take. I also wonder if your nausea meds can make your BP go up??

I went in today and they are trying to avoid medications just like they did with Jaxon. I was not on any BP meds because my dr doesnt want anyone on them unless they are at severe risk for Pre E. I went in today and my BP was ok not high not low but it was 130/76 so they were saying that they will watch it and have me come in weekly to see if it ends up the same as it did with Jaxon. I am not allowed to take anything like Tylenol Cold as of today because it can raise your BP. So FUN FUN!! I am most worried about not getting the labor I want because I absolutly under no circumstances want another EPI

I had pregnancy induced hypertension with Aiden so I have been doing some research to hopefully ward it off with the next one. Two things I have read so far are to #1 do a workout routine (the study I read about used a stretching program) and #2 be sure you are getting a high amount of B6 (at least 50 mg and up to 450 mg) along with magnesium (at least 500 mg increased up to 1000 mg if signs of toxemia are noted, e.g. high blood pressure). Hope that helps!
