Default Op ed piece by Jim Carrey

This is an excellent article written by Jim Carrey (the actor) about vaccines and autism:

I think Jim Carrey hit the nail right on the head.
It amazes me how greedy and ignorant these people can be to ignore a situation so critical all because they are too worried about making money.
The sad part is, that if one day they are found to be wrong, will any of them ever be held accountable? Probably not. I hope they can all live with themselves, I know I wouldn't be able to.

I'm going to have a look at a US schedule and compare it to the UK, purely as all vaccines are free in the UK, so it be interesting to see how it differs.

So this is the UK schedule.

I used this for a US schedule.

Ok so you what is advised in america that we don't have in the UK is
Hep B at 2 months, 4 months, 6-18 months and 4-6 years.
Rotavirus at 2 months, 4 months and 6 months.
Meningococcal at 11 years.
Varicella 12-15 months and 4-6 years.
Hep A 12-23 months, with two doses.

I noticed things we are advised but mainly USers aren't is
Whooping cough at 2 months old, three months, four months (yours is within a combined vaccine)
Meningitis C vaccine, three shots, three months to 12 months (I thought it was the same as the meningococcal but it isn't).
Our Diphtheria, tetanus and polio are all given at the same time, polio still oral.

So that is quite a significant difference in advised vaccines

Money.....why is everything about money and greed.

I find it very sad that thimerosal has been removed from animal vaccines but is still used in human vaccines. And I found interesting that over-immunizing our pets causes a syndrome they call Vaccinosis.

Very good article.

It is a really big difference. I don't know why we're so stinkin' committed to that hep vaccine.

What I like about the article is that it's not anti-vax. . .but it's rather reasonable and questioning. He brings up excellent points and frankly, I was surprised how articulate it was.

A bit weird seeing a quite sane picture of him though, I know thimerosal was removed from all vaccines in 2004 in the UK
