Default Overview of Europe

My European vacation was backpacking for six weeks with two girlfriends during the summer before I graduated from college. How do I sum up that trip in this post?

My travels consisted of flying in to Paris, and visiting France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and England. The museums, cathedrals, beaches, and shopping were phenomenal and the trip was worth every penny. I recommend "Europe on a Shoestring" as a travel guide.

Outside of the norm, one thing I appreciated most of all was interaction with the people--be it other travellers we met on the trains, or the locals. For example, we learned to flamenco dance by crashing a party during Feria de Abril in Sevilla, Spain. A cold night was spent on a trainstation floor with a vagabond woman who was from Switzerland, but was traveling the globe with her trumpet and making money playing in cathedrals. I played the childhood game of M*A*S*H with a 50-yr old Frenchman who spoke no english while on a train ride from Rome to Lugano. These are the memories that a guide book can never prepare you for.
