Unhappy Oww! My tooth!!!

So...something is def wrong in my mouth

What will a dentist be able to do for me??
Can they pull out a bad tooth?

I honestly don't really know what they do cause I've never ever had a problem before.

Yeah, they are able to pull out a bad tooth. There are several meds that are safe during pregnancy. What is NOT safe, however is letting an infected tooth just go... the infection can spread to your blood stream. As long as you tell them you are pregnant, and they do not do x-rays, you should be OK.

I had a horrible toothache amonth or so ago. Baby Ambasol (the gel) worked for me to take the edge off.

Well I am concerned so I'm not gonna just let it go thats for sure. I have enough issues with my body.....I don't need another one while being pregnant! I'd rather not have a tooth than a infection.....of course....i'd rather take meds than lose a tooth but if its too late then..what can ya do?

We'll see.

Probably the dentist will give you antibiotics to clear up the infection before he pulls it.

Be certain to tell him if you have any allergies and that you are pg.

Years back, it used to be said that a woman would lose a tooth w/ each pg. That was before good dental care, baby vitamins, and good nutrition.

Take care of your teeth, brushing and flossing routinely.

My OB told me at the beginning of my pregnancy that if the dentist needed to prescribe me antibiotics for any reason to let him (OB) know so he could let me know which antibiotics are safe for the baby/mom during pregnancy, so that would be my advice---go to the dentist, get what you need done, and if you need antibiotics talk to your OB before taking anything.

I had stupidly avoided going to the dentist until I was about 32 weeks along- turns out I have severe gum disease and need a root canal on all my molars. The dentist really chewed me out for waiting so long. I was deathly afraid of going! But she took care of the tooth that was the worst- even if a feather touched that tooth I would scream in pain! I had a partial root canal, meaning all they did was clean the tooth out and stuff it with something- I still need to have it capped, but that's not covered by my emergency MediCal, nor my other insurance for my pregnancy.

Definetly go get your tooth checked!! Don't do what I did and wait!

I'm sure the dentist can take care of it. Just make sure all medications and stuff are cleared with your OB first.
