I actually kind of WISH there were more 'cool' bras available when I was younger.

Not the padded kind of course- but 'real' bras that came in decent designs, so I wasn't so ****** embarrassed to wear plain old lady bras. At age 8 I was a B cup, and by the time I was 10 or 11 a D cup......those little training bras just wouldn't have worked for me. I would have been bustin' out all over the place. And believe me, not wearing a bra just would have brought more unwanted attention, as they would have been more apparent.

I do think there is a need for bras and the like for SOME children- whereas previously children would hit puberty in their early teens, they are now starting in some cases at 8-10 (some researchers think it is due to things like excess preservatives in food).

Do I think it needs to be padded? HELL NO. But I would have appreciated some bras that made me feel like the kid I was, and not embarrassed about the whole affair.

As an adult who still shops in the kids department for all my clothing let me say I like having bras in my size.I would rather not have to buy things with Bratz on them.I know other smaller size teens and adults like that bras and adult looking clothes are made in kid sizes.Do I think a six year old who has nothing there needs a bra, No.Do some little girls who are six want one to put in their dress-up trunk for when they play adult, maybe.I also think six year olds should dress as six year old no matter their size.I know some kids who are big for their age never get to wear some of the things that I still fit in.

I might buy a padded bra to burn...that's about it, . It is insane what kids are wearing today. We are a Brat-free home, and I'm not overly thrilled with most of Barbie's wardrobe. I've talked to my older kids (6 and 4.5) about dressing modestly (which for us includes covered stomachs and sleeves), and now when we're out in public, it's um great (yeah, great's the word) when they point to someone in a tank top and say, Mom, they're not dressed modestly. Oh, yeah, it's so much fun when they yell it out. Or say it directly to the person.
We are probably way far conservative, in that we decided that even our baby clothes would have sleeves. I know my MIL thought so. But I didn't want to have to say, okay, now at this point we are changing the way you dress. I honestly think the way you dress your kids when they are young will reflect how they dress as they get older. I always wonder if the 6-8 yos are dressed provocatively, what in the world will they be wearing at 16-18? I shudder to think about it.
