Default Pains of pregnancy already?

Ok, I have been having some back and hip pain for about a week. Some sharp pains. I have heard about babies sitting on nerves and causing pains, but I thought this was in the 3rd trimester/closer to birth.
This morning I woke up to my lower back hurting an then went I tried to get up, both of my hips started to hurt (from my lower back down into my hip joints). I crawled back into bedstanding on all fours and put my head down on my pillow for a new minutes. It takes the pressure off and then I can get up and be ok. Is this that nerve that everyone talks about?
Also if I am walking around too much it feels like my belly feels like it is getting really heavy and just gets uncomfy. Is it time for one of those support belts?
To give you some back ground, I am short AND short-waisted. I'm 5'4" and being short waisted I look a bit more
popped out" than other taller people. I'm also 23 weeks along. Are these causes to my pains?
Thanks gals!

The baby might be resting on a siatica nerve which is really painful and going on all fours normally helps me but other than that theres nothing else you can do about it!

The back and hip pain i have had since about 16wks and my ob sent me to a physio and they said i had SPD!!!

Personally I'm 5'1'' and that has not effected how soon or how much I show. No one could really tell I'm pregnant until maybe a week-week and a half ago and right now I'm 21 weeks 5 days. So I can't say that'd effect you, as it hasn't me.

However, I don't think it'd be too soon to start feeling the aches and pains of pregnancy. I was in my doctors office earlier this week for pain and the nurse said that my back/hip pain is caused by my sciatic nerve and the doctor said that I will feel the aches that I have now as baby grows... That for ME what I'M feeling is perfectly normal. I also get a stretching pain in my hips, like a muscle being pulled, especially when I first lay down on my side - round ligament pains, which also aren't uncommon, especially as far as we are.

So yeah, it COULD be that nerve that people talk about. Your sciatic nerve. HOWEVER I think it'd be best if you asked your doctor or midwife as they know your body better than anyone here ever will.

As for belts, also talk to your doctor. I've actually found that anythin tight around my waist makes my backpain worse, so I don't think I'll end up buying the support belt
