Default Personal Trainers?

Do You have a personal trainer? I had one for 2 days. Day 2 we worked on my legs. After that workout I could stand, and sit...but not do the transition between those two things very well. I remember calling a friend who lived on the second floor and making her meet me downstairs because I couldnt walk up her stairs. Do you have any fun gym mishaps?

I've always been curious about what a personal trainer would entail. I would think that they would take a little time to get you used to the new strain. Guess not!

See thats what I thought. I think in most cases they do, mine just sucked. Whenever you join a new gym its a good idea to at least meet with oe and learn how to use the equipment. Good ones can help you develop a workout routine best for you. Crappy ones can cause you physical harm

A trainer should be good enough to make your aware of all the movements and techniques required. If you are not using the right technique, all the effort you put in would not help you reach your goals, you may end up working on the wrong muscle group.

Important to have a good trainer especially if you are new to workouts other wise you may end up with mucsle pulls, cramps or even stretchmarks. Slow progression and right technique is the key.

A personal trainer is good if you either have not used a gym before or you are in very bad shape so you need to be shown the best workouts for you. Remember to always go to your gp before you start an exercise regime to make sure everything is ticking over ok.

I had an hour with a personal trainer when I joined my gym. We talked for about 10 minutes about what I wanted to acheive, and she took my measurements, BMI and weight. The she took me through a suggested routine. She showed me the correct way to lift weights and use the equipment for my routine. It was really helpful and I would love to have a couple weeks with her, but I just can't afford it now.

I was sore after my workout with her, but she warned me I would be. She told me to slowly increase my weight, so it wasn't like I couldn't move the next day. I've been following her routine (kind of) for the last 5 months and I've seen a real improvement. My arms no longer jiggle like grandma's when I brush my teeth!

I had a personal trainer back when I was a competitive runner, but they were paid for by the college. I can't afford one myself, so these days I just read up on exercise techniques and make my own programmes.

Most trainers charge like $45 an hour. I was lucky to train with one for free a couple yrs ago! My then trainer,Kristybel helped me alot to lose my baby weight. She had me do a walking program to begin with and exercises using my own body weight. I didn't have to go to a gym it was all outdoors. Pretty cool.Trainers are good to keep you on track and motivate you and teach you new techniques tailored to your needs. If you live in Miami, I highly recommend Kristybel Rodriguez (she married though,so i don't know if she acquired her husband's last name), if she still does training. I know she was going to open an online fitness training company last time I spoke with her.

I think the best thing a trainer provides is motivation. It's more difficult to skip the gym if you have a paid trainer waiting for you.
