Well, I unintentionally changed his patterns, and it seems to have helped. Last week my husband was out of town, and I got a terrible migraine (disturbed vision, nausea, headache - the whole 9 yards) Thursday night. Caleb woke up like usual and I tried to go in and comfort him and I literlly could not stand to go in his room because I couldn't take the crying. I felt terrible because I never just let him cry, but every time I went in there I felt like I was going to go crazy! Anyway, instead of his usual 3-4 feeds, I only fed him at 5 am after my head was feeling a little bit better. The next night he slept 8 hours straight and only got up once to eat...and the best part is he's done that every night since! This is the first time he's ever put together this long of a streak of good nights. I don't think I would reccomend a migraine for helping your baby's sleep issues though
