Please pray for Tim *** UPDATE 27/01***
Hi all,
This morning I found out that my friends younger brother has been diagnosed with leukemia. He is only 10.
Right now he is in intensive care, and also has a lung infection. As a result he is heavily sedated, so that he doesn't fight the breathing tube which is breathing for him.
Please pray not only that Tim would be healed, but that the rest of the family would be able to stay strong.. There are three children and my friend is the middle one. Her older sister wrote on her facebook that she is finding it really hard to just stand beside him and not be able to have conversations with him.
I and my friend really appreciate any prayers. I know that God is a compassionate God, and that He has the power to heal. So that is my prayer.
Thanks

What sad news. Will pray for Tim and the family. I know how hard a situation like this is when you have to trust in God despite Drs diagnosis and circumstances

Update 21/01/09
Here is the latest on Tim straight from Facebook. His eldest sister Bec is writing this.
Tim has been taken off the muscle relaxant but is still heavily sedated. He is waking up every now and then and squirming around, moving his arms slowly up to his mouth trying to get the tube out. He was opening his eyes a lot today (by a lot I mean several times), but I don't think he can focus very well. He is still very very sleepy. He is squeezing hands every now and then and smiled at kirst and then dad today we think. He is not liking the tube, and is wrinkling his face when he is moving around showing his discomfort. He had a central line put in yesterday (that is a more permanent canula which is placed in his chest - subclavian vein- on the right in a small surgery) he came through the proceedure pretty well. Just pray that the line doesn't get infected but stays clean and clear. The doctors use this line to put in the chemo drugs which he is starting tomorrow and other drugs and stuff which are necessary. Tomorrow he is having a lumbar puncture to check his spinal fluid for traces of any leukaemia cells as well as his first dose of chemo therapy. The chemo is very very dangerous, and tim is already sick from his kidney trauma and his lung problems so the risk is greater.
PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL FILL TIM'S SMALL BODY WITH HIS STRENGTH TO OVERCOME THE CHEMO DRUGS TOXICITY.
Also this is some background info on how he was diagnosed:
Tim fell off his push bike while on holidays with his family, after some scan at a near by hospital they found he had bleeding kidney. He was taken to Canberra hospital to monitored where he stopped breathing properly. He was then taken to Westmead hospital where on Sunday morning he was diagnosed with Leukemia.
This Thursday many of us are setting aside time to pray for Tim and his family too. If you feel that you can that would be great, if you can't, whenever you can would be great aswell. Tim's dad is really struggling, in his words "It's breaking my heart". His mum is now on medication to help sleep aswell. AS you can only imagine how hard it must be to see your son going through that.
I just want to thankyou all for your prayers, please keep them coming. I'll keep you updated when I know more.

I know this must be so hard right now for them and I will certainly keep them in my prayers but on a happy note....my close friend's son was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 2....he was so little and frail. He struggled for 2 years many nights not knowing if he would make it and I am happy to say that he is now 16 yrs old. Just think of the technology advancement since then....keeping Tim, his family and the docs in our prayers......

Another Update 27/01
Hi there again,
I just want to say how amazing you all are, that although you are all going through stuff, and have your own lives, you still have time to pray for others, that you don't even know, and for some of you, others that are on the other side of the world. Thankyou so myuch and God bless you all.
Tim has improved! Praise God! He is now off the breathing machine and no longer sedated. He is using those nasal prongs to help get oxygen in, but still that is a major step after being on the tube a week ago! He has started his chemo. He had some chemo drugs put directly into his spinal cavitiy and he is also on the regular chemo. He'll be doing 7 days on then 3weeks recovery and they're not sure how long that cycle is going to last.
As you can imagine, the chemo has made him nauseous and he's been kinda down. So if you can add to the list of things to pray for; pray for his spirits to lift, and that he will feel God's presence throughout all of this. His parents are doing better too, his mum, Anne is sleeping better and his dad, Ken is going strong(er) too.
Thankyou all again so much!
