Default Polynesian Cultural Center

My wife and I went to Hawaii for the first time back in November. The two highlights were the beaches in Kona where there were tide pools and huge turtles sleeping on the beach, and the Polynesian Cultural Center which was an incredible experience.

Have any of you been to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It's put on by students of a local university to help the kids afford to go to school. It's almost like a theme park with a village for each of the major polynesian islands. I highly recommend it.

How is it possible to get there without a car? I will be visiting in February and considered going to the PCC. I saw on the map it's at the top of the island and far from Honolulu.

Default polynesian cuturial center

We were there a couple of years ago. It was absolutely fantastic. We had the VIP treatment, it was one of the highlights of our trip. We plan to go back, my husband wants to travel to other islands, but my heart is in Honolulu. Turtle Bay is a great place to stay while your there, and we stayed at the Outrigger on the Beach, I recommend the ocean view..........simple breath taking! The colleges here on the main land should take note. Most of the funding for the students as well as the school are all paid through tourism. This place is truely Heaven on earth.

So Lene, how do you get between islands? What kind of boat service is there - or are they connected with bridges? Never been there, don't know. And how do you get around the big island without a car?

The polynesian cultural center one of the most popular attractions in hawaii, 2nd only to Pearl Harbor. Created with the intention of teaching visitors about Hawaii and other South Pacific Island that belong to the Polynesian group of Islands.
