Default Poop!!!! Training T. Sorry so Long

Ok, so we got Tiffers a potty, a couple months ago. And I put it in the bathroom. Whenever I go in there and she follows me in, she opens the lid and sits on it. She loves to go sit on it. I however, have been really lazy about actually getting her started on training her.
For one thing since she doesn't talk, (at least not much) I thought it might be too hard. I don't realize how much she does comprehend because of the lack of speech. ( I shouldn't say lack of speech, I should say lack of me understanding her speech!!! lol )
Anyway, today I decided to quit being lazy. I took her diaper off and had her sit on the potty for a few minutes. She looked at a book while sitting there. Then she got up and took off. So I let her go with no diaper. I went back to washing dishes, to look over to see her with her puch toy a few feet away, pooping!!!!!!!!! I did't want to pick her up and run to the potty. (scare her?) so I let her finish, but as I was cleaning it up I told her, next time you have to make stinkies please go do them in the potty. Tell mommy when you have to go stinkies.
After we ate breakfast she came to me, grabbed my finger and took me to her changing table. So, I chacked her diaper and it was clean. So, I took it off and put her on the potty, She got board and took off again, and promtly pooped on the floor in the family room!!!!!! Yuck!!!!!
But, I am sooooooo happy that she came and got me, she more or less told me she had to go potty. I was just too clueless to figure out that she was telling me she was going to go!!!! Yeah!!!!!! She understood to tell me.
Now if I could just get her to sit there to do it!!!! Any suggestions????
I have been dreading potty training.....but the thought of no diapers is really nice!!!!!!
To think that I have 2 dogs that we managed to train with out a single accident in the house. Never a poop, and now today T managed to do 2! !!!
Sorry so long. Any suggestions on what else to do are appreciated!

Yay Tiff!!! at least she's letting you know! and Kate calls it stinky too. I have no idea...but to get Katelyn to stay for more than a minute we sing songs...she's never gone on the potty though (maybe too distracted by singing lol)

My brother did that at Tiff's age. Except he'd play in it, too. Oh, the joys of parenting!
I have 0 suggestions as we're a LONG way away from that stage. Sounds pretty promising though. I did want to chime in and say that just because she cannot verbalize to you, doesn't mean she doesn't understand you! That little mind is a turning! She understands simple commands!

She sure does, I asked her to help me and throw something away, and she marched all the way into the kitchen, opened the cupboard threw it in the trash and slammed the door and came back!!! She will also go find her shoes and bring them to me to put on her if I ask her to!!!

Kate brings shoes but they're usually not her shoes like I asked! She likes to bring the biggest shoes she can find which usually are her dads. She pretends she has to go potty because she thinks if she goes in there she can talk her way into another bath...She loves the bath too much

My youngest smelled the other day, I thought she was pooping in her diaper, so I asked, "Are you pooping?" She said yes, so I asked if she wanted to sit on the potty, she said yes. I got very excited, really talking her up, big girl!, that kind of stuff. When we got there we chatted, read a few pages of a book, she got bored and pointed to the toilet paper, wanting to wipe, I looked in the toilet, and told her, you didn't go yet. It was just a bit of gas. But she was grunting a bit during the 2nd book, so I knew she was working on something. One more book later, she did it!! I asked if I could help her wipe, and she said yes, then I let her do it herself, and we did a happy dance. She asked to get up 3 times, once during each book, I just asked her to keep trying.

So maybe sing a potty song, and do a dance, read a few stories. Isn't it crazy what we're willing to do?!

Forgot to mention, she's about 21months old. I don't know if that makes a difference.
