Poor little girl(More Olympic drama)
Apparently, she wasn't cute enough to be shown on TV so they used a "cuter" little girl to lip sync her song! Sad, sad, sad!

That is sad. Guess the quest for perfection went wrong. The child's voice is beautiful, so pure and sweet. She should have full recognition.
As impressive and gracious as these olympics have been, you do have to wonder at what cost. Think of the people in Tibet who cannot display their national pride unless it is some kind of costume parade, and the Chinese Christians who are still very much in danger.

That's so sad!!! Maybe I'm just hormonal lol but that made me cry...poor little girl! Both girls are adorable I don't see whats so wrong her.

That is so sad  ...she is getting recognized as the one who got overlooked due to looks (which is a bunch of $%#@*) but should have been the one in the spotlight...and what is to become of the other little girl..says she is on her way to being a star that she has talent...at what...mimicking and looking pretty?? The actual singer is adorable...they should hang their head in shame and apologize...but that won't happen now will it?

I'm ducking shortly after I say this but. . .
This is part of their culture. Yes, I know it's not the way we'd do it. . .we'd find someone cute enough with a good voice. . .so I don't know that this makes us better. Let's remember before we start talking about how horrible they are that there are many, many things about us that they find backwards, sad and very, very wrong.
Yes, I know many human rights violations exist there, but personally I think it's backwards that this gets more recognition than that.
Ducking now from cyber tomatoes being pitched my way.

It was a cinematic show there is no doubt about it. People certainly do not run on air or walk sideways around the equator.
But I don't think this has to do with culture so much as a rapid entry after so many years of self exile from the global stage. And it is a question of pretty pretty pretty. Put this voice with that face.
Of course, I'm old enough to remember the movie version of My Fair Lady. Julie Andrews was robbed - even though Audrey Hepburn was fabulous. But they could have had a great looking actress who actually sang, instead of a great looking actress who pretended to sing.
I think the little girl who did the singing will likely get her teeth fixed now, or whatever it is. Her voice is so lovely, she could be an international star. They shouldn't be shy about presenting her.
