Well neither of my children's names are on that list (which is what I had hoped for). Our daughter: Justine Nicole & we just had a baby boy: Noah Michael

Before we ever had our daughter, we had her name picked & we thought that if we were to ever have a boy that it would be Jacob Bernard (middle name carried from my husband). Although I love the name Jacob, it is just way too popular & predictable for me. I wanted something that wasn't totally different, but not too common. I am very happy with Noah Michael....and now I seem to hear the name Noah more often, go figure!

I too hope to pick a name that is not too popular but also not too obscure. Here's what I like:

Boys - Ethan, Jackson, Bennett, Carson, Liam, and Ashton
Girls - Jordan, Layne, Peyton, Quinn, Jane (it doesn't get more common), and I love Ryan as a girl's middle name.

I wanted unique names for my girls. They are Isis Elizabeth, Talia Aurora, and Leilani Maya. If we ever have a boy, his name will be either Joaquin or Javier.

My daughters name is Caitlyn Marie, and if i ever have a boy,his name will most likely be Austen James

I am from Irish ancestory, and loved Caitlyn as a name ever since i heard it.It also means 'pure' and still used as Catherine in Ireland, which i also like.
Marie is from her Oma,Anna Marie.

If i have a boy,Austen because its a family name..my grandfather was Herbert Austen, and James is my husbands middle name.
Its also thought that somewhere in family history that we are somehow connected to Jane Austen..just havent been able to make that connection as yet though*l*

My husbands half brother son is named Jett, which is rare, but getting more popular..and easy for him to spell too!

Thumbs up Baby names

I also have an Irish heritage as does my husband, so we called our daughter Keely which means "beautiful one" in Irish Gaelic. It's not a very common name, which we liked, yet it was an old traditional name. She wasn't too keen on it when she first went to school as she was the only one there with that name, but now that she's a teenager, she likes it and a couple of boys have told her that not only do they love the name, but that her parents must be really cool to have named her that. Looks like we did something right!!

We opted for what we thought were unusual names when our twin boys were born in 2002 --- Connor James and Aaron Michael. The boys' middle names are for my dad and my DH's dad. Now, I've noticed the names Connor and Aaron becoming so popular. I'm not happy about that at all!!!

When I was pregnant with my 2nd child the girl name we had decided would have been Allyson Marie, but we had no boy name. Well, we found out a month before I was having a boy. We had arguments about this and finally our oldest who was 3 at the time spouted off to a coworker in front of m mom that his baby brother's name was going to be Trevor Andrew. I threw it past my hubby that night and he thought it was great sooo....that was that.
