Default potty training & traveling

so we're officially potty training, have been for almost a week. izzy's doing fantastic, a few accidents yesterday which was the first in 2 days. of course, we haven't put on big girl panties yet, just been going naked. (panties start tomorrow!) but here's my problem...

we're flying home july 7th-ish for a week. (yayy!) but what do i do about potty training? i know once we're actually there, we should be okay with going potty. but it's a good 8 hours of traveling either in a car or are on a plane. do i just put her in a diaper or pull up? she's already been holding so much in (diaper or not) i'm kinda worried she won't go. Airplane bathrooms are small enough without trying to hold a toddler on the toilet (which she's never gone if i'm holding her, she very insistant on having her seat).

i'm hoping i didn't jumble this post up too much. any suggestions?

i would use a pull up and take her to the restroom if she asked to go.

it sure would do wonders if we stick to the potty training but this can be a special case especially if there are long lines for the lavatory. because plane rides often generate excitement and stress (except if they are so used to it), accidents may happen. so it wouldn't hurt to revert back to diapers if this is just a deviation rather than the norm. even astronauts wear diapers in space occassionally; tell your child

i was actually able to find 2 nonstop flights, so we'll actually only be flying for 4 hours. paid a little more, but it's well worth it! and i found a little travel seat that can fit into my purse if we have to go that route.

Take her to the bathroom when you have to go, and if she makes it & is dry
then Woo Hoo!
If not, don't expect a lot while traveling.
The pull-ups may be a good idea, particularly, when the airport & plane bathrooms
are busy & there are lines.

Go with the flow.

Yes, we have potty-trained on vacation and just had to be more flexible.

Ok, this reminds me of a potty training story from DS#2.

For him, going #2 was harder to do in the toilet.

Each child is different.

We were at a rest stop somewhere in Tennessee, Smokey Mountains,
and we all go to the bathroom.
DS's turn to take little Joseph, age 2.

DS gets him up on the toilet, his face turns red, "Move-a-bowels!"
(I didn't make-up this phrase, he did.)
He let everyone know he had done it in the toilet.
"Move-a-bowels!" he exclaimed very proudly.
DS gets him cleaned up, washing hands at the sink.

Joseph's face turns red again, louder: "Move-a-bowels!"
He grunts loudly for the effect.
(Must get this from his Dad, not from me! !)
They both quickly return to the stall, for more BM.
"Move-a-bowels!" he again exclaimed very, very proudly.
A few snickers from the others in the men's room.
DS gets him cleaned up, washing hands at the sink.

3rd time, Joseph's face turns red, even louder for the entire bathroom
to hear him: "Move-a-bowels!"
Back in the stall for a 3rd time.
More loud grunting noises.
Everyone in the men's room was laughing at this little guy!
So cute!

They come running out of the men's room towards me:
"Me, move-a-bowels, Mom!"

The joys of being a parent!
