Exclamation Pregnancy & Depo

I'm not sure if this goes here but...

My cousin is on the depo shot and has been for around 2yrs now. Well, tonight she messages me freaking out cause the condom her bf was using broke... She doesn't want to get pg and is scared of that happening. I told her I didn't think she had much to worry about since she doesn't have af and hasn't since the second month she's been on the shot, but if she was worried about to call and see if they could give her the morning after pill. I'm not a believer in abortion, but she's only 18 & will lose her schooling money and get in some trouble with the miltary. *She just signed a contract with them a few months ago*

Has anyone had this situation arise before? Or have any suggestions?
I'm kinda worried about it and her right now.

If it was yesterday she can go to any pharmacy and get plan b. You dont need a script. You can get pregnant on any birth control. My sister has two depo babies.

Given the failure rate of Depo, why do people still use it for BC, and why do Gyns still dispense it? Unless the info on it I recently read is incorrect, it has never even been approved by the FDA as BC.

In my opinion, it is highly unlikely that she would become pregnant. Many (if not, most women) use Depo as their only form of BC and never become pregnant. I know it only takes "once" but its still highly unlikely. But if she is super concerned about it, or even just a little concerned, she could go get Plan B. It works up to 72 hours after unprotected sex.

no BC is 100% (afterall, how many Pill babies are out there? more than i can count. i'm sure the same is with depo, condoms & everything else.)

i figure, might as well be safe than sorry & go get the plan b. any pharmacy has it & it's available over the counter.

Thanks guys! I told her about that just incase and to be safe than sorry.

And I know no BC is 100%... My DD is a Pill & Condom baby. *lol* She just seemed to be meant to be.

Thanks again.
