Problems Making Returns???
This morning, while waiting for a perscription to be filled, I bought Neutrogena moisturizer to get another ECB (it was printed on my receipt that I was $11.xx from one). I bought a few other items and used a 4/20 coupon (the only one I used this trip). Well . . . I didn't get the ECB. An hour or so ago I went to return the moisturizer (I have quite a few and was just wanting the ECB) and when the cashier saw me he smiled and said "Ah, the coupon lady" I told him I was actually returning something and he said, "Oh no. You're not using a coupon are you? I won't do the return--it causes a **** of a mess" I've seen this cashier for years, he worked there when they were still an Osco and has always been super friendly and super helpful. I was stunned (and I HATE, HATE, HATE confrontation!)that he would say that and just left, figuring I'd go back tomorrow or later in the week when it was more likely a manager would be there.I'm ok with the product being returned -$4 because I wouldn't have qualified for the coupon without the item, but I couldn't believe he'd just say that to me!Have any of you ever had problems making a return with a 4/20 (or any other) coupon?

Poorly trained cashiers and managers are afraid of returns. You have the right to return your items per the law and corporate policy regardless of your use of coupons. Employees that don't know how to do their jobs get trained on the spot by their corporate superiors after getting complaints from customers. 1800SHOPCVS

I went this afternoon and made the return. The cashier from last night wasn't there and the supervisor did it without a problem--he didn't even dock me the $4 from the $4/$20 coupon. I didn't tell him about my experience last night---that behavior was so out of character for that cashier I didn't want to cause problems. Situation resolved!

Same Problem
First time post for me, but I'm also having a hard time returning anything. I live in Phx, Az. and did the deal about a month ago, if you buy $10.00 of something you get $10.00 back. ( Sorry I'm not excactly sure of the name of deal.) So I purchased (2) boxes of the exlax the shelf price was $5.99 they rang up $4.99 and I didn't pay any attention. I also bought about $20.00 of other items, got my receipt and left. I used coupons for every item I bought and I had a few CVS coupons I ended up with a balance of $.78 + tax. I didn't realize I hadn't got the $10.00 ecb until a few days later. Since the items where $4.99 I was 2 cents short. I explained that I bought the items for the ecb and since I didn't reach the total required if I could get a refund. I told him he didn't have to give cash if this was a problem, that I needed to do some shopping anyways thinking that it could be given in the form of a CVS card or something. He looked at my reciept and said sorry, since you used coupons for the transaction, that all he could refund me was what I spent out of pocket. My mouth dropped. He then said that he was just going by what he was told in a staff meeting a couple of days earlier. He said that since manufacture coupons say something like (of no cash value) and that CVS coupons are not concidered to be of cash value, that all I actually paid for the items was the .78 cent + tax. I asked about the $3.00 manufacture coupon that they get re-imbursed for. He just shrugged his shoulders. I hope I explained myself enough that you can understand.

OUCH! I didn't use any coupons except my $4/$20. Where's the store you went to? I'm in the Phx. area, too.

Yep, had problems with returns so now I just return without a receipt and get a money card. It's just easier that way for me and I rarely pay that much OOP anyway.

Problems Making Returns
This was at the location on 19th Ave & Dunlap. I always shop late night/early morning and the staff is always wonderful. They wouldn't give cash or a gift card for anything other then the amount I paid out of pocket. I'm just wondering if they summitt the manufacture coupon and then get the product returned how that works.

In my CVS we credit store coupons on money cards, manufacturer coupons we don't refund. So let's say it's $6.99 total after $3.00 ECB. If you decide to return the $3.00 ECB would be on a money card and the rest will be cash.

Your store does it wrong. Expect to get lots of calls from corporate instructing your management how to do their jobs properly. Corporate policy states that refunds are given for all coupons.
