Default Proud Mommy!

I am so proud of Vince - he participated in 2 wrestling tournaments this past week-end, and ended up with 1st place and 2nd place! I was so proud of him, and my husband was a great coach. We have a great time going to these tournaments, but I was actually disappointed in the size of the trophy he got for 1st place. Not what you are thinking, the trophy was way too big! Seriously, it was nearly 3 feet tall. The other trophies he has received so far are about 8" tall, and it's more of a participation gift than a huge overblown statement (he's in Kindergarten, and each participant gets a medal/trophy).

I made sure to tell Vince that I was proud of him for getting 1st place, but I would have been proud of him no matter what - as long as he tried his best. I want to make sure I teach him that good sportsmanship is much more important than always winning.
