Pulling out Hair!
Alex has been pulling her own hair out lately! What's up with that? Anyone else go through the same thing? She literally pulls out huge chunks of hair, and hands it to me! Maybe she's doing it because she's bored?

Maybe she's stressed about the new baby? I was almost 3 when my brother was born, and my mom has some interesting stories from around that time!

I don't know if she is stressed... that certainly could be it! We have been getting out all the old baby stuff lately, and she is starting to understand (I think?) that there is a baby in mommy's belly. But today, for example, we were sitting on the couch just cuddling and not doing anything, and she started pulling out handfuls of hair! It was strange. She's done it before, but usually when she's on the go, playing, eating, etc. Never when we were just stand still! I will have to keep an eye out for a pattern... hmm.

i had a friend who would do this cuz of anxiety. She pulled out her hair so often that she had really short hair, cuz it never had a chance to grow!
I would just watch to make sure it doesn't become too much of a habit.
But it probably is nothing.
Have you asked her why she is doing it? I know she is kinda young to explain. (Tiffany doesn't talk much, if I asked her something like that she would reply in her own language)
Good luck to you!!

My daughter was doing that as well. The only difference is, she was doing it when we were telling her to do something... Like Emily come here and get dressed. I read something on the internet that said let them make decisions for themselves, give them choices. Now I say Emily it is time to get dressed, do you want to put your shirt on first or your pants? It seems like since she makes a decision, she is not getting as frustrated. I wonder if she is getting frustrated too?? Since we started giving her the opportunity to make her decisions it has been about 3 weeks since she has done it. Who knows what goes through their little brains. I hope it gets better for you.

You might want to research trichotillomania. I don't know what age that starts, but I'd watch out for it and maybe have her see someone if you suspect it's going that far.
