Question about walking
Scarlette will be 1 on St. Patricks Day, and hasn't really attempted to walk. I mean, she will walk when she holds on to something like the couch or her toys, but when she lets go, she sits right down. When we walk her around and hold her hands, if we try to slip our hands out, she sits right down. If we only take one hand away, she will stop, grab our hand with both of her hands, then continue. If we stand her up and let go, she won't take steps, she will just lunge, no matter how far away she has to go. Is she just not ready yet? Anything I can do to help her out?

It sounds to me like she is just not ready yet. Just keep doing what you are doing. She has you showing her, and two adorable big brothers to copy. She'll probably be one of those kids that just gets up one day and is an automatic pro! That's exactly what Alyssa did. She was walking steady at 13 months...but didn't even crawl until she was about 9 months. Its amazing how their little minds work sometimes!

Nevy didn't take her first "real" steps until after her 1st birthday. By 13months 2days she was walking like a pro. Give it some time and she'll be running every where!

My son's first steps were across the room--and he was about 13.5 months before those happened.
We were in the church lobby one day because he had a runny nose and we didn't want to take him to the nursery so we just let him crawl around in the lobby while we watched the service on the TV's out there. Well . . . next thing we knew he stood up and crossed the room! He'd never taken more than 1 step in between furniture before that, so you never know

she sound just like Gabby and she went from only taken the occasional step in 6 weeks, mostly lunging when we let her go, to walking like a pro in 24 hour... granted she was 10 and half months when she walked but most babies don't really walk til after their first b'day

Kenzie walked at 9 months(VERY early)most babies don't walk until after their first birthdays. I wouldn't be worried at ALL about it.

Try holding her hands in front of her instead of above her head, it helps them to lean to be more "stable" on their feet and not rely on mom or day to support their body weight I wouldn't worry most babies walk around their 1st, but the high end of "normal" development is walking at 18 monts

Don't worry about it. They all do these things in their own time. Both mine walked at 11 months. But one of them never crawled beforehand. She just walked and only learned to crawl after the walking if she fell dwon and needed to crawl to somewhere to get back up and walk again. They're all differnt. Others never move a muscle till 18months .

Tiffany walked holding on to things really really early and then didn't walk on her own till she was almost 14 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Her cousin didn't walk unassisted till around 18 months! So, don't worry, she just isn't ready to go solo yet.

Be patient, she'll be walking soon Our son didn't walk until 14months but he became an expert fast. On the positive side, they say it's better for the babies to crawl longer to build more core strength! Good spin
