Default question for people who are/were in foster care

What kind of homes did you like going to? What things made it easier to adjust and feel at home? Also what made it difficult and what could of been done to make it less difficult? sorry for all the questions I just want to be a good foster home. I have some ideas already for when they arrive. Like having the room set up for them specifically like new toys for them maybe some new clothes in the closet just for them and have the room decorated in things they like so they are more comfortable. what do you think of these ideas? and feel free to give me more

From the time I was 13 I was in "the system" put into a foster home. My aunt had taken me and my brother in for a while but since brother was younger he went to the home 1st. My foster mother specialized in teen girls. I was the oldest so it was kind of hard. When I got there, she had beds set up and tried to set you up with what she could. I brought most of my own stuff but the best advice I can give you is obviously try to make them feel comforatable and "at home" if that makes any sense you. HTH.
