Default Recipes Online

One of my goals for this year was to start mixing it up in the kitchen. I've always been a great baker but man cannot live on bread alone. It was time to start finding some recipes for meals that we hadn't tried before and giving them a shot. My husband and I even set up a rating system:

1) I would eat it again - as is.
2) I would eat it again - with some changes.
3) I wouldn't eat this again - no matter what you did to it.

So, I set aside my ego and prepared about three new recipes every week (keeping a few old standards in the mix just in case the experiments didn't go well).

I learned a lot from this experience but the real lesson was that there are some YUKKY recipes out there on the internet. Two sites that I found that had excellent recipes (that don't take an entire day to prepare) for everything from appetizers to desserts are:
Betty Crocker http://www.bettycrocker.com/
Kraft Foods http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf
(Bonus: Both of these sites give you an online recipe box to store your favorite recipes.)

Has anybody else found any good websites with recipes that we can try?

I really like www.foodnetwork.com ... Beside of each recipe there is an easy to difficult rating. Plus, people that have tried the recipes can rate them too.

Yes, we like the food network - My kids are big Iron Chef fans. They tell me they don't like to eat Japanese food, but they like to watch it!

If you like real Japanese food, check this out: http://www.kyoto-su.ac.jp/information/recipes/
It is from a cooking seminar, in both Japanese and English - a little awkward in English, but if you know Japanese cooking, you can figure it out.

Default California Rolls

That reminds me - has anyone ever successfully made California Rolls at home? You know, rice, fish, veggies rolled up in nori? I just can't seem to do it without ripping the heck out of the darned seaweed!
