There have been a lot of reflux babies on the forum the last few months. So I thought we could start a thread for them.

Baby's Name: Nevaeh
Diagnosed:@ 3 months
Medication:Zantac, Axid and currently Prevacid
Tips for other Moms: Baby cereal is your best friend ! Also reflux babies "cling" to the person who cares for them the most. So if your baby doesn't like to go by dh dont worry it will pass!

Baby's Name: McKenzie(Kenzie)
Diagnosed: Still waiting for an official diagnosis. It was ''suggested" at her 3 month visit- and she's had lots of visits for belly issues since-
Medication: We're trying to avoid meds- so far she seems to be doing well with just the formula change and thickners. We often use Mylicon gas drops- but we'll cross that bridge if need be.
Tips for other Moms: Agreed, cereal is your best friend. We've had BAD results with rice and use strictly oatmeal. Just keep saying " This too shall pass."

Baby's Name: Kaydee Maison
Diagnosed: at about 3 months
Medication: Zantac for now hopefully prevacid in 2 weeks
Tips for other Moms: hmm...i got all of my tips from Jen...but...i started Kaydee on solids a little earlier then suggested and it really seemed to help--she keeps a whole lot more down!


can I add something? I just wanted to see how many babies have reflux because they were born premature--

Kaydee was 3 1/2 weeks early, weighing 5lbs 14oz

Ya know Kenz was not a premature; in fact she was born during the last days of her 38th week. She weighed 7lb 5 ounces.
We(pedi, DH, me) suspect she has a milk/soy allergy as well.- As this new formula has been a drastic improvment and she's never been a huge spitter(though she does spit hours after her last feed).
Our first daughter had horrible reflux(So bad that she need a j-tube for feedings)- but she had a defect in her esophogus(sp?) She was on both Zantac and Prevacid 3 time a day. And she still spit the entire amount of her bottles-

Nevy was born @ 35 weeks 5 days. She was 5lbs 10oz.

Diagnosed: @ 7wks
Medication: Zantac, working really well thus far (fingers crossed)
Tips for other Moms: Try to have patience when Daddy gets upset because baby screams every time he picks them up! (poor DH was developing a complex!)

another ?....were any of the reflux mommas given any meds to stop contrations? I was on trebetuline (sp) with kaydee and i have noticed quite a few other AR mommies have too
