Default Regarding the $10 additional purchase requirement

I called my Menards and asked. They said one $10, non-rebate purchase would cover all the rebate items on that order. I went and bought my $10 in Quick-Set (well $9.98, so I got some Gummy Worms to sustain us while we were in Super WalMart), got 2 of the storage containers and a pruner (both rebates required the aditonal purchase). Both of my rebate receipts printed.

I know why they started the $10 additional purchase. I went to a local rummage and the man was selling 100's of FAR from walgreens and menards. I asked him about it and he just said he had some "internet" stuff he does.....guys likehim wrecked the FAR for the rest of us.

The pruners are on page 10 of the 7/3 ad
The storage containers are on page 6 of the 7/10 ad.

We went today. Both Mom and I just bought the FAR items, which almost all had the +$10 requirement. Every rebate receipt printed up. So it looks like the computer considers other rebate items for the $10. Which makes sense, because you are paying the money for the stuff at the time. It is only free if you mail it in.

Mom also bought GC with her other checks without a problem. YEAH! They were still checking IDs.

Ok, I bought the 2/extension cords, 2/surge bars and 2 software all on the same receipt. The 3 rebates printed, but the forms say no copies, only original receipts showing an additional $10 purchase. Since I have only 1 original receipt,I will have to make copies to send them to each of the 3 rebate addresses? Any comments?

Our ad was still saying "$10 additional purchase" not "$10 additional purchase of separate non rebated items" like is on the front of the new forms. The ad and form are not matching. If they'd had that available to see, I might not have tried it w/o non rebate purchase. $10 additional is anything that is $10 and not the one particular item. That's what they were showing me. I had read my receipts from the sale ending 7/16 and backs of the forms where you put your address. There was nothing different on them. I assumed the rebate receipts would only print up if you'd met the requirements for the rebate. That is when they should pop up. If you don't buy the stuff, nothing should print up. Sorry if I was wrong.

Savesome, I don't know why you think you need to mail in your main original receipt though. The form still doesn't ask for it, just the original rebate receipt (which you cut off under the main receipt) and filled out certificate. Even the new line you quote doesn't say send in the main receipt. So there are no copies that need to be made. The barcode on the rebate receipts probably pulls up whatever info they need on the original receipt.

Also if the rebates are the Menards ones (not manufacturer'e) going to the exaxt same address (for me POBOX 28, Elk Mound, WI), you can mail more than one rebate in the same envelope. I've found 8 or 9 to about the weight limit for me. In case, someone didn't know that.

Well, I'm off to call my store....how I long for the old Menards...

Maybe you are smart not to bother with it, HollyHobbie Though I might try my buy $10 worth that I take back after I get my checks. Otherwise it definitely won't be worth it.
