Default restless leg

I have what I think they call ' restless leg syndrome'. My legs feel 'twitchy' and can't realax - it feels kinda like they are having spasms. It happens only when I am laying down, trying to rest or sleep. Now that I have it, I remember it from my previous preganacy and remember how annoying it is. Anyone else have this or know what causes it??

ME ME ME!!!! I have it too, as to the causes, I dont know..... This is the only pregnancy I can remember having it. I just to take a shower or bath before bed in hopes to relax them. But it does not help a lot, they bug me all day as well.

I just started getting that last night as a matter of fact. I had my fiance stretch my leg out for me and that seemed to help a lot.

I've suffered from this for YEARS and pregnancy makes it TONS worse (I'm 16 weeks).

Like Ollie said--the best thing for me is to take a warm bath. I've also found that heating pads work as well!!

Good luck! I was just telling DH last night that while I love being pregnant, this is the worst side effect for me (This is my 2nd pg)

Ditto Ollie and the above poster. Also taking a mild pain killer (tylenol or paracetemol) helps a lot! Unfortunately there is no cure!! And Running about lots of movement makes it worse. GAH!

I actually started getting them too before I tested positive, I think I noticed it the night before I had my BFP. Its ALWAYS when I try to sleep and I go BONKERS every night with it. I have not found a solution but will try having a bath to see if it works!

Well, I am glad to know I am not alone, but am curious to know what causes it. And nothing seems to work - I have tried the hot bath, and it will work for a bit. But I have a hard time unwinding and falling asleep anyway, and it seems as soon as I am tired, it flares up again. ARGH!!

there are meds for it, my MIL and DH are on them, however I am pretty sure its not ok for pregnant ladies. Maybe talk to your OB, they can give you some more advice.
