run away baby
ok so recently, we've been having the "run away baby" problem at diaper time.
you know, when you take off the diaper and the baby takes off! and you have to try to change the diaper and hold the baby down at the same time.
is anyone else going through this?

well. . .it could be worse. You could have twins running away. . . This is about the time that I start letting them run around naked for potty training. How old is your little one?

*laughing (at twins comment)* that is true.
he is 9 and a half months.
it seems like as soon as i take his diaper off he gets this "i'm free" look on his face, and if he can make it, he'll roll over and try to get away.
at what month did you begin potty training?

Now that's a tricky question to answer. I didn't officially potty train until after 3yo for any of my kids. That's a long story but the short version is I was always very pg and about to have a baby around 2years and that's not such a great time to potty train IMO. None of my kids walked that early so we didn't deal with the running away until at least 15 or 16 mos. Lucky you! All the same, when they did/do it (the twins think this is the coolest game ever!) we let them go diaper free a bit, showed them the little potty, sang a little song, and washed hands. I look at it as the beginning of potty training education although we never start sticking them on the potty repeatedly during the day until older.

Do you change diapers standing up? I've found that kids handle the diaper change better if they don't have to lay down for it. It might just make it easier to run away though!

aww that is so cute.
i want to say, "i can't wait" but when i think about all the things i miss now i remind myself not to say it.
oh, and he's not really "running" away. he just rolls over and tries to crawl away. but i'm sure if he could run he would.

i tried to change him standing up yesterday, but he just sat down.
funny. he's not really running away today.
earlier, he did this "mommy i need my diaper changed" tug thing, and then laid down and starting holding his ankles.
it was so funny... and cute.

We are going through the same thing right now with the girls and it is So frustrating!! I just change Autumn while she is standing up at this point, its much easier then trying to keep rolling her over.

Ian ethier rolls over or takes off laughing . I guess he just likes to be naked since he will just sit there and take his clothes off ,

lmao! I started laughing at your thread title. I remember those days from the girls' Conner isn't there yet. But he will be soon enough.
Honestly, I can't remember what we did with our girls. Perhaps changed them really fast and with one hand? I'm thinking that's the way it went. What fun!
