I quit smoking 3 years ago in August. I gained 30 lbs in the following 6 months. It's still here
I've been tempted to take smoking up again-just to get rid of the weight. But I'm not that foolish.
So instead, I started running. At first, I couldn't run very far...not even 1 mile without taking "power walk" breaks. Today, I ran my first mile without a break. I powerwalked/ran for the 2nd mile, then walked & did stretches periodically for the 3rd mile.
I feel wonderful. I've been watching my calories too...making sure to eat 500 less than I burn. So far, I've lost 3 lbs, then went up 2

But, I have to keep telling myself that I'm doing the right thing, and the weight number doesn't really matter, it's the losing inches that does matter. And I THINK I'm losing my double chin. No one has said so yet (and my brother was the FIRST to tell me when it started to appear 3 years ago!)...but I think it's shrinking.
