Smile Running is the Secret

Running is the ultimate way to lose weight!!! I lost 10 pounds in a span of 2 months. Okay, it may not sound like some breakthrough weight loss plan, but it's almost guaranteed that you DON'T gain the weight back. And of course, don't think that you can run like a track star on your first try. You HAVE to build up your stamina first. Start with jogging, then increase your speed OR distance. Passion for running doesn't happen overnight. But once you get past that hurdle, it's a breeze

Default Running

I so wish I enjoyed running. I know it is definitely the answer to weight loss. I guess I will start with walking and see how it progresses.

I thought about taking up running, but was always told that it isnt really good for you. I've heard that its really hard on your knees and hip joints because they absorb the shock of running and that your internal organs take a beating as well. Is any of this true or is this just an old wives tale?

Default I am not sure

I have heard it can be hard on the knees especially if you already have bad knees. I guess we would have to ask a doctor if the physical benefits outweighed the physical pain.

Anyone else know about this? I still do not enjoy it either way.

I come from a family of runners, and yes, it can be hard on your knees. But with my brothers it took nothing more than a knee brace to wear while running to fix the problem. Strengthening you muscles right above the knee also helps this problem. Running is not only a wonderful way to loose weight, it is also a wonderful way to power pump endorphines (happy chemical) in the brain. SO if you are having a problem with depression, give running a try, or any cardio that will get your heart rate up to 60-80% of your max heart rate, it really helps.
