I would think it would be perfectly safe, why would you think it isn't? I don't consider it to be very environmentally healthy to ship food that far round the world though. (But thats another story)

Well, I think you're right to question whether they're safe or not. There's been a few things that have come over from China with questionable safety levels...the pet food fiasco and then the recent toothpaste with antifreeze in it.
Personally, I'd be cautious & not eat it. They obviously do not have the safety standards we have here...which is why they can produce things so much cheaper!

I'd be cautious. Just some quick googling pulled up various frozen vegetables from China that have been banned in Japan due to poor safety standards.
Though after the US spinach recall, can truly anything be safe? I don't know. But you have to weigh your choices with the information you have and the people in your household (poor immune systems, the very young, etc) and make your own decision.

I too agree. . .there is a HUGE deal right now about whether or not food that comes over here is regulated enough to guarantee it's safety level. I am surprised all those veggies were from China though. . .that is a little odd.

Welcome to the board!
Why not just use fresh veggies,
or
go to the farmer's market for fresh,
or
get some canned veggies from the USA?

Ditto to what Angie said....esp now in the summer there are farmers markets all over...they also tend to be cheaper to buy then going to the sotre, taste a lot better and are good for you

i would pitch them. i recently blogged (on another site) about china & they're constant "accidental" poisonings to our products. (pet food, toothpaste and most recently -- our seafood link). i've been going through everything lately and if it can be ingested in some way (be it food or hygiene product) i've been tossing it.
