Default Do You Wear Corrective Vision?

Goldilocks to the Big Bad Wolf wearing Grandma's clothing, "My, what big eyes you have, Grandma!"

Big Bad Wolf wearing Grandma's clothing, "The better to see you with, my dear!"

This is an off topic question.....about your eyes.

Do you have perfect vision?

Wear eye glasses?

Wear soft contacts?

Wear hard contacts?

Wear gas permeable contacts?

Wear bi-focals?

Wear tri-focals?

Wear contacts plus eye glasses?

Wear reading glasses?

Had eye surgery to correct vision?

What's your story?

None of the above. As Trini once said "Mom has super eyes" (said when I told her to stop jumping on the bed I was downstairs and she was upstairs in her room)

Lucky you, Tina!

I have worn glasses or contacts since the 5th grade.

Since I turned 40-ish....went to bi-focal contacts and bi-focal glasses.

Now some people can wear one contact near sighted and one contact far sighted,
with the left eye, right eye.

I decided no way, no how, not trying this.

My contacts have reading correction around the rim.

*****
When DS#2 was 2 1/2,
for 3 mornings in a row, he would very, very early get up and quietly
sneak into my bedroom, and take off running with my eye glasses.
Hide and seek.
Except, then I couldn't see anything.

DS#1 would run after him and bring them back to me.

Surprisingly, DS#2 was very gentle running and hiding w/ my eye glasses.
He knew enough not to break them or twist them.

He gave up and found a new game on day #4.

Little stinker! What a way to get awoken too early too!

I had contacts & glasses, only for the last couple years. I started college at 29 (I'm 31 now) and was having horrible migraines...bad enough I vomited from them. Hence, contacts & glasses

My eyesight isn't so bad itself-I can see well without them, but I have astigmatism & light reflects in my eyeball "wrong" causing images (ESPECIALLY lights, tv, computer, etc) to blur terribly.

One time, driving home late at night, I came to a complete stop in the middle of the road, thinking I had come upon a DWI/seatbelt checkpoint. Nope, it was one police car who had someone pulled over. You can bet he questioned ME thoroughly when I thought there was more than one police car there. It was later when I talked to my eye dr that I found out why I saw lights all around me.

I can sit & read a book in daylight without glasses-I can see the print just fine.

eta: I have to wear toric lenses for contacts, which are very expensive. I cut up a VERY hot pepper for my parrot, then washed my hands & STILL ruined my contacts by getting them all peppery. that was another sight to see, I'm sure...me trying to get those peppery contacts out of my eyes. I haven't gotten around to spending the extra $150 for contacts again.

Yep I wear glasses for shortsightness. I have daily disposable contacts but hardly ever wear them.

Both my older boys are shortsighted too.

I am soooo jealous, Chana618!

I hear your pain about the cost of contacts, Missy!

My bifocals contacts are about $350 each. Big expense. Knock on wood, I do not lose them. I try to be really careful when handling them.

So far I have 20/20. I hope that doesn't change as I age.
