Question Safety in the grown-up tub

My daughter is seriously outgrowing her little duckie tub. About 2 more inches of growth and it has to go. Its been such a convenience and the thought of the trouble I'm going to have making the tub safe is giving me a headache!

First off, we have cheap landlords ( who doesn't...), and they hired a cheap maintenance man who doesn't do anything right. Our bathtub paint comes off sooo easy its not funny. So after him doing it the last time, we've had to stop putting bath mats in it (because the suction cups pull the paint off). Instead, I put down those little peel 'n stick thingies. Which of course are coming up and need to be replaced. I just don't feel confident that these will provide enough slip resistance.

Can anyone help me out with some ideas here? Thanks!

Two words:

kitchen sink!

My boys loved getting a bath in the kitchen sink when they were young, toddlers to preschool. Of course, turn the faucet away from the child and stay with the child at all times.

We had a double kitchen sink, so I'd put both boys at the same time. DH would help with drying off.

Always sanitize the sink after baby's bath too.

My other thought is to use a rubbermaid big bucket in the bathtub for her bath.

Ooh that's a great idea about the rubbermaid thing. I reckon I'll give it a try!

I bought 2 of the bath seats that have the arm that goes over the side of the tub so the seat doesnt come unstuck from the bottom of the bath and we love them!! THey have been using them since Dec and we have never had a prob with them. Good Luck

Heres a pic of the seat I was talking about. We got it at our Wal Mart here for around $25 each but they are great.
