Default SAHM social life

I am a SAHM that loves kids but loves also wants to have conversation that does not revolve only around kids. I feel that because I am not out there in the world of grown ups at least when I meet parents for playdate or playgroup we should be able to talk about what is going on in the adult world. It is kind of difficult to tell people ahead of time let's not only talk about kids. How I am goint to solve my problem of organizing a playgroup with also adult conversation?
Any suggestion would be appreciated...

First of all Welcome to families!

To answer your question...why not start off on an adult conversation? Many people revert to talking about their kids because they don't know what they have in common with the other moms....try starting a coversation on likes, hobbies or what you like in general

Default Welcome!

Maybe next you put together a playdate...casually mention to the other parent (while planning it with them) that "this will be great!" "The kids can play, while we have a nice adult conversation!"
That seems like a good head's up to me!

Default Have your own playdates!

You need to set up your OWN playdate. And what I mean by that is....stay at home mom's don't have to be attached to the house at all times. Take an evening every other week or so and have your husband watch the kids. Oragnize a coffee group, or a reading group, or even a debate group and invite the moms from your playdate circle to join you. Have some adult, women "bonding" time. While you'll start off talking about the world's events, I bet you'll end up talking about kids!!
Anyway, give it a try!

Default Thank you

I have been try to think how to be direct about it without been inappropriate. There are few websites that offer the opportunity to launch playgroup and you can look their profile and try to get an idea of the person ahead of time.

I understand what you mean. As a homeschooler, I often find myself talking to other homeschooling moms about homeschooling. I find other things to talk about by looking for cues in what they wear or carry with them. I have spotted artists, writers, and other interesting hobbies and habits to talk about by just looking for clues.

yes that's right Ollie! What social life? My social life currently entails being a taxi driver....fixing boo boo's..a nanny and a baby sitter, a cook...a house keeper and a "ref"
