Okay everyone...I finally woke up from my nap...

...(this has been a work in progress since about 8:00 this morn!!)
Let's see...Well after a few delays, which in the long run turned out to be blessings (induction postponed Sun to Mon...Mon sent home b/c already 3-4 cm dilated..was supposed to go back in on Tues a.m. to have membranes ruptured..)...Sawyer picked his own birthday and came all on his own..well I helped a little!!! At just before 5 a.m. on Tues. while laying on the couch (which was my second bed) I heard and felt a "pop" and then a gush....I hadn't just coughed so I knew that I hadn't "peed"..

..got up from couch woke up DH (Doug) and DD (Rylee)who both jumped up and we called my mom who was going to come too and got ourselves ready and out the door in about 15 min...I was having mild contractions...nothing huge...Got to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitor..Checked me and I was 4-5 cm dilated. Once I was off the monitor (also had a fast dose of IV antibiotics) decided to walk around a little to help things move along...Did a lot of swaying back and forth, leaning on Doug etc...Around 6:15-6:30 or so my contractions kicked up a notch or several...and I started concentrating on my breathing a little more...little more swaying etc...Around 7:15-7:30 decided I would like to have a bath and also decided would take a little pain med (Nubane shot)..b/c I had decided on pain meds they had to check my cervix again...well I was at 8 cm!!! So the window for pain meds for me had closed...I did get into this huge tub though called the Parker tub and it took quite a while to fill so Doug and Rylee took turns placing hot wash clothes on my tightening belly..which felt wonderful!! Didn't even get the tub completely filled up...Started to transition (shake) and feel lots of pressure..so after about 45 min or so in the tub got out at 8:30..and back into bed...They already had everything all set up b/c they knew I could go quickly...Checked me again and I was b/w 8-9 cm...there was another sac of water to be broken too which the OB did...after that I was felt increased pressure and the contractions were came more quickly and intensely....I did get a little help from the Nitrous Oxide gas that I used...sometimes more than others...My midwife was there with me too giving me words of encouragement and support along with Doug who rubbed my shoulder, wiped my brow and encouraged me every step of the way...My mom and sister were there too....The OB discovered that Snugs was faced the wrong way up but once I was at 9 cm and felt like pushing she said I could start just to get the last of the cervix open and also with one of those contractions Snugs turned the right way...Had he been facing the right way from the get go she said he would've arrived an hour earlier than he did...I probably pushed for about 20-30 min....and with a last big growl (I think on the video I sound very loud but Doug, the midwife and the nurses all said I wasn't loud at all!!)...and some pain...Snugs was born at 9:49 a.m.!!! Rylee video taped the birth and my sister took over right near the end...He was placed on my chest right away and stayed there for about 20 mintes..skin to skin...it was an awesome feeling!!!...I did get a few stitches for a tear but other than that...We are still in awe that he is actually here!!! We were able to come home on Wed. which was great...they did monitor his sugars while we were in the hospital and I nursed him every chance I got and he did get a wee bit of supplement just to top him off and to help him regulate his sugars..My milk came in yesterday which is wonderful and he is a great little nurser!!
Okay that about sums up his story in a nut shell...We are all over the moon and hugely in love with this little boy!!! Now I know you want to check him out so here he is....the long awaited much anticipated...Sawyer (a.k.a. Snugs!!!)
