Smile Scrapbookers Around?

This board is so quiet. I am hoping to get it stirred up a little.
Anyone want to share a favorite product, website or technique? Tell about yourself and your scrappin' style? What's your favorite thing about scrapbooking?
I want to get to know you all, but its so quiet.
Let's GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!!

Hey! Scrapbooking is a quiet hobby right? (she laughs after spending the weekend with 300 roudy women who love making books!) I have loathed traditional scrapbooking since I was in kindergarten and couldn't make a perfect circle with a pair of snub nosed scissors....ICK. I kicked and screamed when dragged to crops with my "well meaning" friends and stubbornly refused to make my own christmas cards or gift tags too! The rebell in me!

BUT the digital scrapbooking thing snuck up on me when I wasn't looking and now I can't be more than three feet from my laptop without starting to twitch! At least it's easier to hide my habit than regular scrappers...I don't need luggage to haul die cuts and paper around...I just sneak away with my laptop and try to pretend to be a yuppie!

My favorite website is...well...*blush* of course my OWN, and my favorite technique for now is photoshop....that is until we launch the world's first integrated digital scrapbook program onto our site in June...and then it will be THAT!

I'm always looking for ideas and advice...most of which I ignore...*grin* but I love the things I learn daily that make my layouts more fun and exciting!

Default I know we aren't the only two...

I know we aren't the only two scrapbookers on this site, but apparently everyone is in hiding.
I'd love to know what you all would like to know about scrapbooking. I'm having a blast writing the articles, but would love some ideas.
Happy Scrappin'

I'm a scrapbooker, I'll out myself!
I dont have much of a technique worth discussing. I like to cut pictures, put captions, and save small paper items from events, like the movie ticket from a special movie, adddmittance tic into the museyum etc..and include those in the scrapbook.

I am a scrapper!
I have been a paper scrapper for about 7 years, and I have just started getting into digital scrapping.
I love doing weekend retreats both large and small (I have been to events ranging from 8 people to over 1000 - Creating Keepsakes and Memory Makers Conventions).
I have scheduled vacations with the hotel rooms close to scrapbook stores
I have traveled over 4 hours one way for a scrapbook retreat.

Diane, you are a true scrapaholic. Anyone who can travel that far, loves her hobby!

Welcome to the board and I'm glad you said hello!

Talking impulse scrapper

I scrapbook but I can never seem to stay ahead of all the pics. With a didgital camera its too easy to just keep snapping photos. I can hardly bring myself to delete any even if they're bad. I have a 3 year old little girl who loves to pose so I end up with piles of just cute shots. I just recently got 140 photos printed and am trying to make them into nice pages.

I here you! My daughter is a cheese, and I haven't even gotten started on her scrapbook or a family one. Right now I am working on my husbands "Mission Album" from when he served a mission in Florida. I wanted to start with that (after a hodgepodge kinda half done thrown together high school one I did as a senior)as my first "real" scrapbooking effort. It has worked out for the best- I can keep it simple and such, because, well, he isn't into that cluttered cutsey girly look, and it is HIS book. I haven't worked on it in FOREVER though. I feel like renewing my efforts soon though, I just got burnt out a little. I too need to print like a gazillion digital pics up soon. I think I'll wait until I am done with my hubs book first though. Gee- am I rambling here?! It is past midnight and I need to go to bed...

Hi Charli - Welcome!

I completely feel your "pain" with being burnt out. We all get that way on various projects and sometimes scrapbooking in general. The best advice I have for that, is to put it aside like you did and come back later.

When you come back, your ideas will be fresh and you might get more done because you will have a new perspective.

The whole printing the digital photos is a whole article I intend to write. With film we may have collected rolls once in awhile, but with digital we collect hundreds of photos before we print them.

Advice on that, start slow. Find about 50 photos at a time that you want to print. I also recommend using an online developing place because not only are the photos just as fabulous as anywhere else, you also usually get between 10-20 free prints per service.

Anyway, welcome!
Nicole
