secret food cures
I watched the Secret Food Cures infomertial, and eventhough it was a bit cheesey and rehearsed, I decided to check it out a bit more. After I read a couple positive reviews for the book and a couple other books written by Joan and Lydia Wilden, I decided to give it a try. I haven't recieved my book yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I get it and try a few of the "cures" out. I figured if nothing else, it might be an interesting read and I can have some fun trying some of the home suggestions too (the order came with a couple other books). I will say that that there were not a lot of reviews on Amazon, but the ones I found were very positive with the exception of one. The one that wasn't positive was for another one of the Wilden books about little tricks for around the house and the reviewer said she had already heard all of the secrets before. I'm young though, so I'm sure it will all be new to me. Like I said though, if you haven't already ordered it for yourself, I'll let you know how I like my copy.

Please keep us informed, this may have very good posibilities!
I have a book called 'Vinegar, Duct Tape, Milk Jugs, and More." It's how to use common houshold items to repair, restore, revive or replace almost everthing. Excellant!

Secret Food Cures - I like Corinne Peachment's CD's
Hello,
Infomercials have well researched psychological formula's for getting people to BUY. I've read Joan Wilen's earlier publication entitled, "Live and Be Well" which has a number of "folk remedies" - some suggestions were interesting and it may help you, but did not help my particular problem. There is NO question that food can be powerful medicine (Hippocrates said "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food).
One thing I like is the onion insomnia cure but I had already learned that from another source. It works.
I have a few other books on the topic, such as "Home Remedies, What Works" and "Nutritional Healing." The one I like most (in part because it got rid of a nasty nail infection I'd had for 2 years) is an audio CD by Corinne Peachment, called "Real Food Cures." She also has a book. The audio explains the 3 foundations for these "cures" ... for example, garlic won't act as an antibiotic if you're ignoring the basic building blocks for your immune system." I think her best skill is in presenting the information in a brief and usable fashion. For more info, see amazon or google her name. I also like Brian Kaufman books on the topic.
Good luck!

I'd be curious to know how you got rid of the nasty nail infection without prescription medication. If you don't mind. Thanks!

Can someone tell me how to speed up your metabolism? In the infomercial the mentioned mustard. Does anyone know what you are supposed to add to it? Also how does the book say we get rid of cellulite?

coconut oil
Try Organic Virgin Coconut Oil for a boost to your metabolism and a myriad of other benefits. Research is available at coconutoil.com. Pacific islanders have higher rates of metabolism from coconut products. I have used the oil for years now and have lost weight too. Good Luck and Aloha

I'm so wishy-washy on this stuff. Some I believe, most I do not, I think most of it is psychological. But I do love to read the books.
