Default Secret Shopper Mystery Shopper ???? knowledge

I have always wanted to do this. Just recently I signed up to get more information, but haven't commited to join through the email I received. I thought I saw job offers in the past through legitmate our state employment site.
Tell me what you know. Have you ever done it? Do you hire secret shoppers?
I don't work more than 6 hours daily and not at all in the summer, so I am curious if this would be a good thing to take on.

I have been doing this for about five months now. It all depends on where you live on how much work you are offered. Most companies will not let you do more than one shop every so often for the same company. In the beginning I was doing 2-4 shops every month and now maybe 2 shops every month at most. The shops usually don't pay more than $20 and that is on the high end. Most of the time I get $8-$15 per shop. Like I said before though it all depends on where you live. One thing to know is to never pay a company to shop for them. The sites should be free and only require a short typed paragraph and your personal information. The only thing I paid for was the list of 100's of sites to sign up on and I think that was only $40 with a money back guarantee. The guarantee is the only reason I went ahead with it. I think the site that got me started was secretshoppingcenter.com. It has only kept me busy now that I am a SAHM and need a little extra money, but this is not a good source of income to rely on.

I went to a site listed by WA_Julie Service Intelligence (SSI) and gave them my info. I haven't heard anything back yet. I just checked a reply by Julie after asking her about that and she thinks it's cause they probably don't need anyone in my area that I specified. I might have also stated that I wasn't available until mid June.
Thanks for your information also. I would like to have this for just a little extra income. I work nine months out of the year usually, and get my pay spread out over the entire year so I have time on my hands; UNLESS, I get a job the other three months. I was thinking about other sources also, like internet work.

I've shopped for Service Intelligence before. It's a good company. My favorite was www.trendsource.com
I don't do much MS anymore..... I've switched full time to couponing instead. If you have a CVS nearby, come join us in the CVS forum! That's a fun way to occupy your summer time and save money on things you need (like getting toothpaste for free)... in my experience, couponing has been a more worthwhile hobby than mystery shopping and has contributed more to the family finances.

(By the way, I promote the CVS forum b/c I'm the mod there, but you should check out the forum for your nearest grocery stores too - lots of money to be saved in couponing! )
