This really ticks me off.
The school district would rather spend thousands of dollars prohibiting a student from bringing a service dog to school than make accomodations for the dog to accompany him. The excuse? Well, our other deaf students don't have dogs.
The problem is that if the dog is not utilized on a consistent basis, his skills will diminish. Then he's just a pet.
Would this school district tell a blind student "you don't need a dog, use a cane"? Really, this is such bureaucratic nonsense.
