Shoes off at the door. Family only or everyone?
Is it customary in your house to expect everyone to remove their shoes, or just your family? Or perhaps you have no objections to shoes being worn in your house. Ordinarilly shoes are not worn in our house, either by family or guests. We wear slippers.Guests, if possible, are asked in advance to bring theirs. If not guest slippers are provided if needed. We feel that by adopting the same rules for all in this contentious area that it reduces the potential for ill-feeling.Do you adopt similar rules.I have to say that I can't imagine wearing shoes in the house or unless specifically asked, i remove them when visting other homes, as do my family. What do you do with regard to this incredibly contentious area of house ettiquette/
