Default Should I go for it?

Well a coordinator position has opened up at my company. Not sure if I want to go for it or not. But I really have to decide this week if I want to or not. 6 months ago I would have jumped on it but my dh’s hours have started to pick up and he is no longer on a rotating law off. What do you think?

My current position-

Can adjust my hours to fit my needs if needed. I work m-f regardless of holidays or not.

I get home right when Ellamae wakes up from her nap.

It is direct care for people with disabilities even the not so fun stuff. I mostly manage the medical appointments and household stuff (bills, groceries, menus, appointments, job/school issues, etc) . Basically I am a mom to 4 individuals with disabilities.

Not to stressful work. Relaxed atmosphere. I dress in jeans and a t-shirt every day. In a way I am my own boss.

I get to work with the same small group of individuals every day for the past 6 years! And I would miss them greatly and the connection to the community.

I could and should be doing something that actually requires my college degree and not just “recommends” a college degree.

Very little pay.

Coordinator position-

Not so flexible with hours and need to be available for emergencies. In general work m-f and have holidays off!

But work until 4:30-5pm and would need Ellamae to go to the sitter from 3-5pm every day.

It is coordinating the care for people with disabilities. (Shoving off the responsibilities to people/companies that I feel would properly help the disabled person)

Very stressful. Lots of meetings. I would actually have to dress up.

Work with a very large group of individuals for a very minimal amount of time. No hands on.

Actually requires my college degree.

Large pay raise
