Sick baby
Kenzie is a sicky, too.Yesterday she refused her bottle before nap(she normally gulps this one down). When she woke she was pretty hot so I took her temperature. 101.5. I took her into her pedi, only to be given a list of what could be's since everything looks good( I thought for sure it was her 1st ear infection). So, we were sent home with watch and wait orders. She refused to drink anything from 12-9! Yikes! She was eating solids- and lots of them. Last night her fever spiked to 103.1 at one point(at 3 Am with blood curdling screaming). She woke this morning with a low fever and still no appetite. Her fever seems to be gone- now we wait for her appetite to return. She normally drinks 26-30 ounces a day- and today, less than 18.. She's still wetting diapers, so I am sure she's just feeling yucky. We've been doing a lot of high water content fruits in her mesh feeder, water in her cup, etc to attempt to push fluids since she won't take her bottle much. She's eating a ton of solids so I am speculating it hurts her to suck/swallow?

Poor Kenzie.... Is she, by chance, teething? DS almost always got a fever when teething.

like i said, her and kaydee are the same baby Def sounds like a sore throat or ears. Did they say either looked red at all? I took kayds 3 weeks ago and they said the ear infection was just starting...so maybe this is the same? She had the same high fever (although none now) and wouldnt drink either. Did your ped say to give her pedialyte at all? My doc always says to give that because it tastes good, and has the right amount of electrolytes for babies

Lisa- the sugar in fruit actually draws water OUT into the bowels (which is why they say to give it to babies who have problems going potty) Try to increase the water in her formula by an oz if you can or give her more veggies. High sugar stuff may make it worse.

Nope. In fact, she commented on how GOOD her ears looked! She's drinking a bit more- and is back to acting like her normal goofy self. She goes through spurts where she doesn't want to drink much. I am just going to go with the flow. She's eating solids and her dipes are normal!!
Thanks!!
