Default Silicone baking pans

Anybody using the colorful rubbery stuff for baking? I got a cupcake pan from Ebay, but it seems a bit weak and flexible. I guess I have to use a flat pan underneath it. An acquaintance is worried that silicone will one day prove to be bad for your health, so she refuses to use it.

I have silicone potholders and spatulas as well, and I like it that they aren't flammable, making them safer to use around the stove. What have you got?
