I am the activities chairman in my ward, its a calling Ive never had before in the past; and Ive had it now for just over a year . Ive been VERY happy so far with all the activities we have had and the turnouts and have had wonderful feedback on what has been done so far .....
Anyway~~ for the 24th of July Pioneer day celebration, I have rented our City Pool for the ward to enjoy privately the Saturday before the 24th..... We also have a park pavillion nearby for about 3 hours (3:30 to 6:30pm) before we go over to the pool area to swim at 6:30pm. i am providing meat (burgers and hotdogs) and we will be grilling (if our fire ban is lifted) and families will bring side items to share. Anyways, I need some SIMPLE activities that dont involve alot of planning or changing of clothes (keeping in mind we are all NOT close to our homes and have to travel to meet together). I was thinking of maybe having a homemade ice cream making contest with awards and such.....what are some simple Ideas that you can share with me?? Keep in mind also its going to be a HOT Oklahoma July also and we may be under fire bans still; and also that we have a SMALL ward.
