Default sleeping

Is it normal for a 4 month old to only be able to stay awake for 2 hours at a time?
My other kids stayed awake for like 4 or 5 hours by now. Kal can't keep his eyes open for more than 2 hours at a time and then naps for 2 hours too. He sleeps well at night, for 7-8 hours at a time.
Just wondering if any one else had sleepy babies?

Kaydee is exactly the same....growing i blame it on...some days she will be awake more then others...we were at the ER yesterday, mostly because she wouldnt eat, but also because she wouldnt stay awake! The dr. would take her temp in her butt, she would open her eyes for 3 seconds and pass back out....i know they grow when they sleep, so growth spurt? She also sleeps through the night...sometimes will be awake for 2 hours then sleep for 3-4...all day its the same routine...awake then sleep twice as long

I wish! Emma has been getting up at 6:30 am and staying up until around 9:30 pm (with maybe a total of a 1 hour rest in between) for almost a week straight now. Oh, and still getting up to eat in the middle of the night.

I might just be a phase he is going through. How long has he been slepping so well?

We thought we had it down with our first one... only to realize just how true it was that "every child is different and grows in different stages at thier own rate."

One generality that I have left is that mine would both stock up right before a growth spurt. They would eat and eat and eat... soon there would be those tell-tale chubby wrists and elbow dimples. Usually the eating would be for a couple days followed by a couple days of mostly sleep (and growth). I swear they added an inch a night.

Neither is off the chart for weight or height either. They all grow at thier own rate.

One way I was checkign was to look at digital face shots I took a couple days ago a week ago... you can really see the changes much quicker this way.

My Emma slept a lot until she was about 5 months old. There were days she'd stay awake for 7-8 hours straight, then for about 4 days after, she'd be zonked out almost all day, and sleep through the night! If he's sleeping, his body is obviously needing it!

CeJay was the same way! My step mom told me to call and ask the doctor and they actually laughed at me! They said that I should consider myself lucky, and I did! Pretty soon it will all be ending though... CeJay finally started staying away longer around 5 months... he's just a good sleeper!

Thanks ladies. I know there isn't anything wrong with him, I am very happy he is a good sleeper....i would like to get a routine though! Its hard when he is only awake for 2 hours, but wants to have a bottle every 3 hours....he wakes up cuz he's hungry not cuz he's rested....think maybe thats why he can only stay awake for a short time too. OH WELL!
He has been sleeping thru the night for about 3 weeks now
