Question Slow Cooker Recipes?

I just bought my first slow cooker the other day. I've never been much of a cook. I always thought that the point of a slow cooker was that you could throw a bunch of stuff in, turn it on, and you'd have quick meal. It seems like most of the recipes I've come across have been pretty complex. Are there any good basic recipes I could start with, or a cool website to find them on?
Thanks in advance!

I often joke that if there were a fire in my home. . .once all my kids were out. . .I'd go back in and retrieve my crock pot. In fact, I recently bought a second one so that on super busy days I could do bfast and dinner in the crock pot. I highly recommend the Fix It and Forget It cookbooks.

But really what's great about a crock pot is that you can throw anything in there. One of our family favorites is chicken and spaghetti sauce. Then when it's done put it over pasta with some mozzarella cheese.

I also have an Ask a Food Blogger thread! If you want anything more specific or have any other questions!

Do you like meat? Here's a really simple meat in the crockpot recipe:

Steak and Mushrooms
1 pound beef round steak, cut one inch thick
1 extra large onion, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, leave whole
1 - 12 ounce jar of beef gravy
1/4 cup apple juice

Cut meat into 4 portions. Place the onions on the bottom, then the meat, then the mushrooms and then the liquids. Cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours.

I love my crockpot!! I also have the cookbook fix it and forget it...its a life saver. I have made stew and sometimes threw it on some rice or egg noodles and viola!! My favorite is chicken and turkey jambalaya. I make it in the morning and dont worry about dinner til its time to set the table. Good Luck!!

One of the beauties of crockpots is that you can throw in your meat, your starch and your veggies, cook and have a full, balanced meal at the end of the day.

If you do a web search for "crockpot recipes" you'll find more recipes than you could make in 5 years. There are just so many variations.
