Default slowing down

Due to the fact that school has started up for me again, and I still work 16 hours a week, I find I cannot run every day like I was all summer. I'm hoping to get at least 3 days a week in...and I'm going to really push to start running 3 miles instead of running 2 & walking 1.

I'm very sad about this...I've lost a lot of inches (not many lbs) and I'm so afraid the fat will start piling back on. Especially since I haven't really altered my diet much

I can relate. Slowing down the past several weeks, and going no aerobic completely for 11 days, was killing me mentally. Except now, I get to get back into the daily swing--and hopefully soon, twice a day-- b/c ds is in school and the weather is cooling.

I still think that since you are spending time on campus, you should check out the workout facilities at your college. No weather to worry about and you could clean up right in the locker room for your next class (or work, whatever). Or you could run/walk around campus, but use the facilites to clean up. Just a thought to help keep up your frequency

Even running 3 days a week is better than nothing. I hope you find a way to fit it in! Best wishes!!!

Last night I used my treadmill. I hate it-but it's better than nothing. I hadn't ran since the previous Tuesday-so I had to do something. The weather here has been rainy, so that hasn't helped.

I agree-I want to run at least 3 times a week. I was doing 6 or 7, but that just is not going to be possible.

Campus is far away for me (45 miles one way), and with my home/work commitments, I pretty much have to come home directly after class. Either because I have to get my kids-or get ready & go to work.

I am absolutely determined, though, that no amount of busy-ness is going to prevent me from running 3 days a week.

A lot of the commuters at my school had down time between classes. They'd try to schedule for certain days, but there would be time gaps. I was thinking maybe you had some down time, even if just 30-40 min, on campus that you might have to squeeze in a workout. Just trying to help think of a way you could fit in workouts

I can understand about the treadmill not being the same as a run outdoors. My BIL and SIL are huge workout in the gym folks. I'm the walk in the park without music blasting in my ears type. I really dread when in a couple of months I might have to join the rec center to get my walks (or use cardio machines). A track just isn't the same as the outdoors w/ nature. That is, I'm assuming they don't let squirrels and beavers in the rec center.... But it kids aren't allowed on the track, I'm pretty sure squirrels are banned

But the treadmill beats the couch--not that you'd have that down time w/ all you have going on. That's just my usual choice

I know-but my classes are back to back with only 10 minutes in between. It really is an advantage though...I wouldn't be able to afford time between classes. I just have so much going on. I work and freelance, and have 4 kids.

You're right about the treadmill being better than the couch...my husband laughs at me 'cause I put our old tv in front of my treadmill!
