Default Small family or dealing with 2-person meals stories and tips

I grew up in a family of 7 so when I went it alone, it took a lot of sampling and rearranging my meals and recipes to get to where food didn't spoil. My husband and I have found that we love fresh turkey, but portions are always too big. Our meat cutter at QFC will always slice a frozen turkey breast in half for us and wrap it up for the freezer. It saves a lot of waste and the second half comes in use for a later meal. We cook it with just 2 Tblsp olive oil, 1/4 orange juice, rosemary, thyme, and parsley. We cook it at 300 for a longer time to make it super tender.

As a high school grad that just moved out, I was shocked to find my bread was spread with spoiled butter. I didn't think butter would spoil, it was always gone. By the way, it tastes awful. All my butter goes in the freezer. I buy it on sale and then store all but a lb. in use in the refridgerator. When I was by myself, I'd get small tubs to make even less subject to spoil.

I usually buy the maragrine in tubs. i think that stuff is processed enough that there is no way its ever going to go bad.
