Small prayer request
Unfortunately my mom has suffered a nasty side effect of chemo and radiation. Her veins have collapsed, so tomorrow morning she has to have outpatient surgery. They're going to put, I guess, a shunt (?) in, so they don't have trouble getting a vein for the remainder of her chemo treatments.
But, yay, she did do her last radiation treatment last week, and has 5 weeks to go until her next cat scan. I think there will be progress, because she hardly coughs anymore.
Thanks for being here for me during this. I appreciate my good friends here.

Fun with veins is part of the chemo experience - and not a pleasant part of it. I think the shunt will cause her less pain and uncertainty.
And isn't it good to have the end of radiation and some respite from chemo in sight!

((HUGZ))) I'm glad to hear the chemo is almost over Jean...Janet is right about the shunt...it'll be easier to give her treatments that way and they won't have to be poking her more then ness.

Just read this thread, and hoping that your Mom has done well today getting the shunt access.
Lifted your Mom up in prayer.
Sending you & family good thoughts, warm hugs, and prayer.
God Bless!

When my dad was going thru chemo, they decided to go with a Hickman catheter, and he found it so much easier after that. Love and prayers to you and your mom, hope she's doing better.
