Ok so I just went into my drs office and got the shot of phenergen. When I found out I was pg I weighed in at 178 (yikes) and today I weighed in at 168.5 I knew I had already lost 6 lbs but now I have lost a total of 10. On March 9th was when I weighed in last so it isnt as drastic as the 6lbs in 17 days. But my dr called while I was in the office to talk to me about new medication choices. He said I could take the phenergen 2 times a day and see if that helped but since everything eles on top of my Hyperemesis is going he suggested Compazine. This is a med that he NEVER prescribes and he made sure to let me know this. I will take this every 6 hours and am not allowed to miss a single dose. I am supposed to get the little ice pop things that pedialyte makes or just the regular ones and eat one of those and then if I am still thirsty I am to drink no more than 8oz of water or juice. I also have an appt tomorrow to get more blood work done and discuss more since my Dr was in surgery.
On a side note the phenergen shot BURNS like no other shot I have had in my life. I am super drowsy already and have had to have my Sister in Law (ex SIL really) take my son since DH and I have not gotten any sleep.
Ok so I called my DR and was freaking out they looked it up and found out that there a risks of congenital defects if this medication is taken during pregnancy ( No wonder it isnt prescribed) So I told them to cancel it and I will talk the phenergen. I have an appt to talk to my dr tomorrow so I will be talking to him about if the phenergen doesnt help if I need the compazine if they will do a more extensive look at the heart since I have been on the other medication. I was born with a small hole in my heart and dont want to add to the risks of my baby.

Class C medications are medications that are either deemed unsafe for a pregnant or nursing woman or any medication that has not been studied on a pregnant or nursing woman. Therefore the med is unsafe to take because of the fact that they are unsure or they know the med can cause defects. In my case the medication they want me on can cause heart defects. So I asked the normal questions to the nurse like if I take it what are the risks etc etc. So tomorrow I will talk to my dr as the phergen shot didnt do a dang thing I am waiting on my Dh to come home with the pills now who knows.... Scary Scary stuff.
