smoothie recipe
I remember reading awhile back recipes about how to make home made smoothies. I cannot seem to find that old post anymore.
Tried making a smoothie just now with the frozen banana, blueberries and the tropicana oj, it came out ok only.
These are the ingredients I have on hand: fresh bluberries, frozen strawberries with syrup, soy milk, frozen banana and tropicana oj at home.
Can someone please clue me in on how to make a fab smoothie. (or share their favorite recipe please, along with measurements). I would really appreciate this!

Re: smoothie recipe
Whenever I see a good deal on bananas, strawberries, etc. I stock up on them. I freeze them in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Then I put them in a ziploc baggie. When I am ready to make smoothies, I pull out my blender, add the fruit I want, then add apple juice to make it the consistency that I want. You can add whipping cream to make it creamier, even yogurt or orange juice is good with it. Juicy juice even makes an orange tangerine juice that is good with it!
You can use:
Bananas, strawberries, raspberries, bluberries, peaches, pineapple, mangoes, other stuff if you are brave!

I use 1% milk, fat free vanilla yogurt, and frozen fruit--either raspberries, pineapple, strawberries, bananas or blueberries, or a combination. It may not be the richest smoothie, but I find it pretty tasty, and healthy too. Sometimes I put a dollop of fat free cool whip on top after I've poured it. I have them several times a week as my afternoon snack. I never measure. I just dump enough in my blender to make one serving. You get to know how much of each you should use the more you make them. This was my primary snack while dieting this past winter and it is pretty filling.

Re: smoothie recipe
My family is addicted to Jamba Juice (a smoothie place). A lot of their smoothies contain some kind of sherbert. When I make them at home I make sure to add sherbert. VERY YUMMY!
