Default so over it

Kaydee is sick....again! I swear the kid has been sick more then she has been well

She just had a cold last week, when I had bronchitis. She had a horrible cough and runny green nose. It lasted about 4 days then she was fine. Yesterday she started with the SAME cough!!! Did it just not go away? Or did she catch a new one?

Also, one of her top teeth broke through just as the other cold ended. Could this be signs of the other top tooth coming in? Its just the cough that makes me think otherwise...

I am calling the dr first thing tomorrow, but i just wanted everyone opinions

It might be just the tooth........hopefully that is all it is.
Give her a hug..

Emma gets congestion, cough and runny noses during teething. My aunt always had the same problem with my cousin - upper respiratory with every tooth that came in! In fact, Emma has it now, on top of an ear infection. The bug that's going around results in a 3 week strand of coughing, so it's probably the same thing. Just get her on amoxicilin from the ped. and keep her going with the saline, aspirator, and the plug-in vicks. It works wonders!

Rhi have you talked to her Dr. about a flu shot? I know you have to wait until they are one but since her birthday is so close they should be able to give her one.

They do the flu shot at 6 months and up(or so I read).

Hope she feels better soon. We get congested here when we're getting a new tooth!

She is a million times better this morning! Still congested and has the runny nose but she hasnt coughed yet (knock on wood haha) and she is drinking like she lived in the desert for a month. She also slept through the night last night!! 8pm-8 am :-O

I dont even think i need to call the doc, this cold seems to be going the same way as the one from last week did and where her other tooth is coming in is super red and swollen so i think its just a matter of hours before it breaks through! Almost at 4 teeth finally!

Thanks everyone!!!

Sometimes I don't think doctors always know if it is teeth or they are sick. Ellamae has been sick off and on this past month. First she is sick, then just teething, then ear infection, then just teething, and then herpangina. Saw the doctor last monday and just teething again....but she has 103+ fever yesterday and this morning.....but she IS cutting TWO molars, they finally broke through yesterday!!!! I thought the doctor was a quack with the teething thing....but I do think she is sick. I am calling the doctor because AGAIN today and you should too, that way I don't feel so dumb for always calling the doctor!

Ellamaes doctor gives flu shots to 6 months or older, so you may want to look into that.

I get worried with the flu shots because both Jaecy and I got them 2 years ago (she was the same age as Kayds now) and we were both SO sick. Sicker then either of us have ever been before. I think I would rather battle flu season on my own, rather then let Kaydee get as sick as poor Jaecy did. She was hospitalized and all

The flu shot no longer contains the active virus. But the flu nose spray does. When she has her next check up I'm sure your doctor will discuss it with you if he thinks it is something he does or doesn't recommend. It is up to you.

We declined the flu shot, too. Especially since it doesn't guarantee you'll avoid the flu.
