Default Soccer

Soccer seems to be up and coming in popularity as a youth sport because of its simplicity and quick moving game. Its great for children of all ages from very young (4 or 5) up to high school age. Sometimes it can be a little challenging, however, trying to figure out how to get your child signed up in a league. Are there any soccer parents out there that might have some good tips for parents who have children interested in soccer?

I'm an avid soccer fan and some of the best experiences I had as a kid were with my soccer team. If you're looking to sign your child up I have a few thoughts:
-Find a league where they let kids play together for several years. This is a great way to develop friendships and get socially comfortable. A huge added plus is if the team has kids from several different schools because it gives children a chance to get out into a different social circle.
-A lot of leagues have both spring and fall options, which is good to keep kids active and interested. But beware of those winter indoor leagues as well, you don't want the game to turn into a chore or make you miss out on other things your child could be doing.
-This is my own personal opinion, but at the youngest ages see about putting your child in a co-ed league if you can. It's a great way for kids to learn they should treat everyone equally and it let's girls build their confidence if you have a good coach.

There seems to be a lot of activity in America with soccer at the moment. Also, David Beckham (probably still the most famous footballer in the world) is playing over in the US next season. It will be interesting to see what effect this has on the popularity of the sport in North America.

We are soccer parents. . .my husband coaches. . .my daughter is 8 and started when she was 6. We found that one trick to finding a good league was to watch the other parents. You obviously can't tell that before going but there's no law that says you have to stay forever and ever. Actually, we asked around to see what other parents had to say. But if the parents are roudy and obnoxious, it is likely that the focus is on being highly competitive and not on learning basic skills and having fun.

Default Artificial Turf

However, these synthetic looking artificial turfs looked, ‘unnatural’ at first. Technological advances have made this artificial grass look more natural.
With the growth in the demand for artificial turf manufacturers, there were many fiber manufacturing and texturing processes, which came into use for the carpet industry for eons. Yarns and fibers for artificial turf were being manufactured to provide a very realistic feel with natural colors, extreme UV protection, anti-static, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and slip-resistance to the entire surface.

Now, thirty-five years later, you can get ‘environmental’ friendly synthetic grass that is recyclable, looks completely natural and eco-friendly.

Default Haven't started our daughter in soccer yet...

We just started our 4 year old daughter in ballet. I think next year we'll start her in soccer. She's starting to be more active physically and show more coordination.

I think next year will be perfect...
